HOCKEY

Douglas Stump, England's Under-18 goalkeeper and a National League player with Gloucester City, has died after contracting meningitis. Stump, aged 17, was England's goalkeeper over the Easter weekend in an Under-18 tournament in Santander, where the side won the silver medal.
