AUSTRALIA CLINCHED the three-match Test series against England in Brisbane yesterday when they won the final game 3-0 to take the series 2-1.

Although England held the World and Olympic champions to a 1-0 interval lead, Katrina Powell scoring the opening goal in the 16th minute, they succumbed to continuous Australian pressure after the interval, with Louise Dobson scoring from a penalty corner in the 43rd minute and Alyson Annan, returning from injury, adding the third with just five minutes remaining.

England, who were indebted to a string of brave saves from Carolyn Reid during the first-half onslaught, now play New Zealand tomorrow and Korea on Tuesday.
