HOUNSLOW, after a busy weekend, remain on course to repeat last year's League and Cup double, writes Bill Colwill. With a 3-1 win at East Grinstead on Saturday, they moved into the Cup quarter finals and yesterday beat Bromley 5-1 to stay ahead of Southgate and Havant in the Pizza Express National League, although the two chasing clubs both have a game in hand.

Bob Crutchley, returning from indoor duty with England, scored twice on both days as Hounslow came from behind on each occasion.

Don Williams was another from the indoor squad to score twice yesterday in Havant's 3-0 league win against Bournville which followed their 2-1 win at Bromley in the Cup. Matthew Cross scored the late winner against his old club.

For Southgate, it was two League wins over the weekend: 4-0 against St Albans on Saturday and yesterday they travelled to Canterbury to win 3-0 with goals from Welch, Gisborne and John Shaw.

The weekend's highest scorers were Old Loughtonians, who netted five on both days, Bournville being their Cup victims on Saturday, losing 5-1, and Slough suffered the same fate yesterday. Goals from Nick Thompson, Paul Krishman (2) Neil Barker and Alan Philpot gave them their first League victory over the Bucks club.

There was no change at the top of the Second Division, although the leaders, Surbiton, were again held to a draw.
