Ireland proved tough opponents when they held the England women's team to a 0-0 draw at the UCD Sports Centre in Dublin in 99th international meeting of the two countries. Ireland's Tamara Stronge twice came close while England's Jane Sixsmith and Tammy Miller delayed shots too long after working their way into excellent scoring positions. After the break England's Tina Cullen missed two good opportunities as the Irish were put under sustained pressure.
