Balsam Leicester maintained their two-point advantage over Ipswich at the top of the Premier Division of the Women's National League with a 2-1 win at Chelmsford, courtesy of second-half goals by Lucy Cope and Kath Johnson, writes Brian Tatlock. Jo Green continued her recent goalscoring form for Chelmsford. Ipswich also waited until the second half before securing their 2-0 win at Hightown with goals by Vickey Dixon and Debbie Rawlinson. That set up a grand finale to the League season when the teams meet in the last game on Saturday 23 April. In the PizzaExpress National League play-offs at Olton, Hampstead & Westminster and Whitchurch remain on course to win promotion to the League. A 59th- minute penalty corner strike from Dave Dixon gave Hampstead a 1-0 win against Crostyx, while the 18-year-old Jamie Westerman scored four times as Whitchurch thrashed Anchorians 6-1.
