Rob Thompson scored twice to spearhead Hounslow's return to form after last week's defeat by East Grinstead, writes Bill Colwill. They thrashed Canterbury 7-0 to retain the lead in the First Division of the PizzaExpress National league. David Knapp, the Welsh international, claimed his first goal for the club. A 63rd-minute goal by Matthew Cross against his old club earned Havant a 1-0 win at Bromley, which left them two points behind Hounslow. Reading beat Stourport by the same score to slip into third place, their goal coming after 64 minutes from Rupert Wood. Fourth-placed Teddington and East Grinstead, fifth, drew 2-2 in an error-strewn match.
