DAVID WHITTLE, the England manager, has included three uncapped players in his squad for the Centenary Trophy against Germany, the Netherlands and Ireland in Dublin in June, writes Bill Colwill.

With six Hounslow players unavailable and Jason Laslett absent taking exams, Whittle has called up goalkeeper Jimmy Lewis, defender Andy Humphrey and centre-half Jon Wyatt.

Whittle has remained loyal to all those available from the squad which beat the Olympic champions, Germany, twice in Hanover at the beginning of the month. Southgate's John Shaw continues as captain.

ENGLAND SQUAD (for Centenary Trophy against Germany, Netherlands and Ireland, Dublin, 4-6 June): D Luckes, J Lee (both East Grinstead), J Lewis, D Williams, R Hill, R Garcia (all Havant), J Halls (Old Loughtonians), A Degun (Barford Tigers), S Nicklin (Slough), J Shaw (capt), R Welch (both Southgate), P McGuire (Teddington), K Takher, C Mayer (both Cannock), J Wyatt (Reading), A Humphrey (Welton).
