Home for Lonesome
Lonesome Glory, the top American chaser who had seemed a live Cheltenham Gold Cup prospect until his defeat at Haydock on Saturday, is to return to the United States.
"I didn't feel that in Saturday's race he showed he was ready for the Gold Cup and that was the purpose of the trip," Bruce Miller, his trainer in the US, said.
The dual Colonial Cup winner will now take in a series of three chases starting in April with prize-money of $375,000.
