Ice Hockey - Molson Challenge, Wembley Arena

The two-game series the Montreal Canadiens and the Chicago Blackhawks will play at Wembley Arena this weekend marks the first appearance in Britain by teams from North America's National Hockey League since 1959. It is a run-out for these leading teams whose season starts next month, but competition will be none the less keen with dollars 50,000 ( pounds 25,380) prize-money at stake and fringe players out to impress the coach, though Stu Grimson, the Blackhawks' physical left wing known as the Grim Reaper, will be out to make an impression on the opposition. Should the teams be level after the second match, a mini-game of five minutes or, if needed, a penalty shoot-out will decide the series.

How to get there: London Underground to Wembley Park (Metropolitan or Jubilee Lines) or Wembley Central (Bakerloo). British rail to Wembley Central. The Arena is situated on the North Circular road. Tickets: pounds 15, pounds 25 and pounds 30. Box office: 081-900 1234 or special reservation line: 081-900 1991.
