Alen Boksic and Alessandro Del Piero each scored twice as Juventus, the European champions, thrashed Rapid Vienna 5-0 last night to strengthen their position at the top of Group C, Manchester United's section of the Champions' League. Juventus are unbeaten on 10 points, but with two games to play they are not sure of reaching the last eight as one of the top two finishers.

The Serbian Ljubimko Drulovic scored from a free-kick just outside the penalty area, and set up two other goals as Porto beat Norway's Rosenborg Trondheim 3-0 in Oporto to secure a place in the last eight.

Milan squandered a two-goal lead on their way to a hard-fought 4-2 home victory over IFK Gothenburg in the night's other Group D match.

A header by the Croatian Zvonimir Boban and a penalty by Demetrio Albertini put them 2-0 up, but defensive lapses let in Jesper Blomqvist and Andreas Andersson to, square the match. Tomas Locatelli put Milan in front again just before half-time and Roberto Baggio made the game safe for Milan in the last minute.
