Letter: Sheringham - get a real job
Sir: I hope Teddy Sheringham wasn't looking for pity when he wrote about his "11-month season." He should join the NHS, not a top club like Manchester United. We have a 12-month season, playing five times a week. The pay is such that most of us end up playing on our days off. The result? The average staff nurse earns less than Teddy pays in tax each year. If he really wants to see what drives people to drink, he should try getting a real job. The average worker cannot afford to go out on all-night binges every week.
