Salomon Kalou
Salomon Kalou kept Chelsea fans waiting for the last five years to see the sparkle and goal-scoring ability that he showed in the Netherlands. He is no natural poacher or flair player or second striker but he has often come off the bench to score important goals and shows a determination and work rate akin to that of Dirk Kuyt who won Anfield hearts through his tireless performances and occasional, but generally crucial, goals. Kalou also has good pace, an attribute Liverpool lack in certain quarters. As well as the Reds, Arsenal and Lille are also reportedly interested in the Ivorian. Lille were thought to be closest to securing a deal but it seems that the French club could not afford his wages so the race is once again wide open.
