Daniel Sturridge The idea of spending yet more time on the bench at Chelsea has not gone down well with attacker Daniel Sturridge who could have made the England squad if he had been given more minutes on the pitch last season. The 22-year-old is stalling on signing a new deal with the club and consequently Rodgers is on high alert. Sturridge would be ideal for Liverpool given that he can play up front or out wide and out scored both Fernando Torres and Didier Drogba last season. The two main problems are the £15m price tag and the fact the Sturridge reportedly wants to stay in London, so could be persuaded to move to Tottenham instead. Liverpool have other options available to them that represent better value for money and so they may well choose to leave Sturridge where he is.
