More woe for Leeds

Leeds' sorry season continued yesterday with a 28-26 home loss to Oldham with only 6,754 there as witnesses. Oldham's first win at Headingley for nine years came when Jason Temu forced his way over with two minutes remaining and Paul Topping's conversion put them ahead for the first and decisive time.

Bradford Bulls will not rush into appointing a successor to Brian Smith, their coach and chief executive, who returns to Australia in September to take over at Parramatta.

Chris Caisley, their chairman, said: "The board will be taking stock over the next few weeks and we'll make some decision into the long term.

"We have made no immediate and definite plans for the position after September. There's no need to hurry and we have nobody lined up."
