Hamilton takes pole for Japanese Grand Prix
McLaren's Lewis Hamilton has claimed pole position for the Japanese Formula One Grand Prix.
The championship leader took his sixth pole of the season with a time of 1 minute, 18.404 seconds.
Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen was second quickest, a quarter second behind the Briton, with McLaren's Heikki Kovalainen and Renault's Fernando Alonso third and fourth.
Hamilton's title rival Felipe Massa of Ferrari will start from fifth on the grid for Sunday's race.
