Reynolds fit to defend lead

Rizla Suzuki's John Reynolds hopes to race at Brands Hatch this weekend and defend his lead in the British Superbike Championship - despite breaking his left collarbone just over a week ago at the previous round at Thruxton.

Reynolds is confident he will be able to race his GSX-R1000 before a large crowd at the Kent circuit in an attempt to maintain his eight-point lead in the title chase over HM Plant Honda's Michael Rutter.

"I am feeling better than I thought I would," Reynolds said. "Don't get me wrong, it is still sore, but I have a lot of movement and strength in my shoulder and that is encouraging."

Rizla Suzuki's Japanese rider Yukio Kagayama also returns to action at Brands after he broke his right collarbone two weeks ago while racing in Japan.
