Newbury and Ayr defrost
An ease in the cold snap enabled Newbury and Ayr to be confident yesterday that today's turf cards would go ahead.
Catterick, however, is subject to a 7am inspection today. Beverley Kilvington, the track's secretary, said: "There is a slight chance of racing taking place. There's a light covering of snow and a small amount of frost in the ground.''
Uttoxeter's meeting was called off early yesterday.
