The British Boxing Board of Control has fined Wales' Joe Calzaghe pounds 5,000 for withdrawing from his British super-middleweight title defence against Paul Wright. His joint manager, Mickey Duff and Terry Lawless were cautioned for a breach of a specific clause in the boxer-manager contract approved by the Board.

Crawford Ashley, the British light-heavyweight champion, will meet Spain's Roberto Dominguez for the vacant European title in Liverpool on 1 March. Dominguez replaces Norway's Ole Klemetsen, who is injured.
