Five Nations trio into quarter-finals
England, Wales and Ireland are through to today's quarter-finals of the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Bank Sevens. England, reigning World Cup Sevens champions, ended Scotland's interest then clinched a place in the last eight by beating Argentina 24-7. But their day was marred by a knee injury to their captain, Damian Hopley, who is unlikely to play today. Ireland held the former champions Western Samoa 14-14. Although they finished second in their pool on tries scored, they went through as best runners- up and now face holders New Zealand. Wales crept into the last eight despite losing 21-19 to Australia. They were the second best runners-up and qualified on number of tries scored.
