TWO Serbian rowers - the coxless pair of Vladimir Banjanac and Lazo Pivac - took 45 hours to reach Banyoles lake and then found their boat hadn't made it. Step forward the ever-generous Americans to help, although the gesture might have been slightly misguided, as Bajanac revealed. 'The American coach . . . kept calling us Croatians, but we didn't really mind,' he said.
