HIS team won no gold medals, but Sam Ramsamy was one of the happiest men in Barcelona.
The mastermind of the sporting boycott of South Africa led them back to the Olympics after a 30-year-absence, and simply loved every second of it - espeically in one unexpected direction. 'The white athletes have been overwhelmed that there have been no ill-feelings from athletes from other countries.'
The team for Atlanta, he said would look different. Better facilities for whites meant they made up most of the team this time. 'By the time of the 1996 Games, I hope to have a team of 50 per cent black and 50 per cent whites.'
