Usain Bolt has advanced to the semi-finals of the Olympic men's 200 meters, finishing his quarter-final heat in 20.29 seconds and keeping alive his hopes of the first 100-200 sprint sweep since 1988.

Bolt, the Jamaican who already has run a world-record time of 9.69 in the 100m to take the gold, won Monday's 200 quarter-final heat, finishing 0.13 second ahead of defending Olympic champion Shawn Crawford.

The semi-finals are set for Tuesday, with Crawford among the few believed to have a chance at stopping Bolt's quest for a double.

Carl Lewis was the last sprinter to pull off the gold-medal double at the 1988 Seoul Games.
