Usain Bolt will bow out of the Olympics in the early hours of Saturday morning as he competes for Jamaica in the men’s 4x100m relay in the hope of securing a ninth and final gold medal before retirement, having already won the 100m and 200m finals over the past seven days.

Bolt already has two gold medals in Rio to his name, but he has set his sights in a third in an effort to secure his “immortal” status as the greatest sprinter to have ever graced the planet.

Great Britain will hope to get among the medals in both the men’s and women’s relays though, and it could be another productive day for Team GB following a medal-laden day 13. Super-heavyweight boxer Joe Joyce has already guaranteed himself a medal, but he could secure a silver medal at least with victory in his semi-final later today.

Tom Daley returns to the 10m diving board to get his individual campaign underway, although he will have to wait until Saturday night before the medals are dished out.

Ben Maher and Nick Skelton go in the men’s individual show jumping final from 14:00 BST, while Charley Hull has put herself right in the mix in the women’s golf event as she sits two shots off the lead in tied-third at the start of day three.
