With professional rugby league switching to summer next year, Wigan are keen to make use of their 24,000 capacity stadium during winter. In return the rugby league club hopes to play reserve matches at Orrell's Edge Hall Road ground.
"We will try out a game and take it from there," Wigan's chairman, Jack Robinson, said. "They will have to see what sort of crowd they get to work out if it is financially viable."Reuse content
