Overseas Football: Gascoigne fighting fit
PAUL GASCOIGNE inspired Lazio to a 4-2 Italian League victory over Cremonese last night. Giuseppe Signori scored twice, his second brilliantly created by Gascoigne. The maverick Geordie did not score but he did hit the bar after an intricate dribble.
The Serie A leaders, Milan, won 1-0 at Atalanta, Daniele Massaro settling a bad-tempered match, after a neat exchange with Brian Laudrup.
Deportivo La Coruna stayed clear of Barcelona at the top of the Spanish league, Donato and Bebeto scoring in a 2-1 win over third-placed Sporting Gijon. Julio Salinas' double gave Barca a 2-1 win over Albacete.
Roger Milla may be 42 but he still dreams of playing for Cameroon in the World Cup finals. Milla came out of retirement for a second time yesterday and scored for Tonnerre Yaounde in a 2-2 draw against Canon Yaounde watched by 65,000.
