PLYMOUTH TO SIGN HUDDERSFIELD'S RICHARD LOGAN

Neil Warnock, the Plymouth manager, has returned to his former club, Huddersfield, to sign Richard Logan, the 26-year-old utility player, in a pounds 20,000 deal.

Darren Caskey, Tottenham's 21-year-old former England youth captain, has joined First Division Watford on loan for a month.

Birmingham have signed Sigurd Rushfeldt, a Norwegian international striker from Tromso, on a three-month loan with a view to a pounds 750,000 deal. Rushfeldt is in the squad for tomorrow's First Division visit to Port Vale, who had hoped to sign the player themselves. Bart Griemink, a Dutch Under- 21 international goalkeeper, is also to join Birmingham on Monday, moving from Willem II Tilburg for an undisclosed fee.

Sean Sweeney, the Airdrie defender, is facing a Scottish Football Association disciplinary after television viewers saw him kick Dundee's Morten Wieghorst during Wednesday's Coca Cola Cup semi-final. In the 90th minute incident he appeared to kick Wieghorst in the ribs but Jim McCluskey, the Stewarton referee, took no action against Sweeney and gave Airdrie a free-kick.

China beat Colombia 2-1 yesterday in front of 60,000 fans at Peking's Workers' Stadium. It was the second defeat in as many games in the South American side's tour of China.

Emiliano Mondonico, the Atalanta coach, will face disciplinary action for swearing at the crowd during a hot-tempered Italian Cup match against Juventus. Mondonico and the club were reported to the disciplinary commission of the Italian League for bringing the game into disrepute. Atalanta beat the league champions 1-0 with just three minutes of extra time left.

Richard Moller Nielsen, Denmark's national team manager, has signed a four- year deal with Finland and will become their coach next summer after the European Championship finals.
