John Price's hopes of a record fourth win in the CIS Insurance Scottish Masters ended in Coatbridge yesterday following a great fightback from former champion Graham Robertson.

Price made the perfect start with a maximum four on the opening end and went on to take the first set 7-3 just three ends later. However, Robertson scored 13 shots over the next seven ends, taking the second set 7-0 and opening up a 6-0 lead in the decider, before a single two ends later completed his recovery with a 3-7, 7-0, 7-1 win.

Andy Thomson then set up a semi-final meeting today with Robertson when he beat off a challenge from Richard Corsie. Thomson took the opening set 7-1 in just four ends and then opened up a 6-0 lead in the second, but Corsie hit back with a run of seven shots to take the set 7-6 and force a decider. However, Thomson started with a first-end count of three and led all the way before winning 7-2.
