Racing: Charlton's expectations remain high for little Inchinor: Some leading trainers suggest their horses to follow

JACK BERRY: a fast starter each season, recommends the two-year-old Palacegate Jack. 'This one's a bit tasty,' he said. Berry is equally exuberant about Paris House, a smart two-year-old who then ran well in Group-class sprints last season. 'As a four-year-old, he's come back as good as ever. It's like sitting on an electric flash.'

HENRY CECIL: 'Tenby has done very well physically and although he's a small horse that doesn't really matter. Wharf was the forgotten horse of last year because he had shin trouble, but he did everything right and is doing well now.'

JULIE CECIL: begins her third season with a licence expecting big things from Dramanice. 'This is a three-year-old maiden colt, who twice ran well at the back end of last season,' she said. 'Pater Noster, a four- year-old, chipped a bone in his knee at Ascot. We'll see how things go, but we're very hopeful.' ROGER CHARLTON: elicited two successes last season from Inchinor, who was also a four-length second to Zafonic in the Dewhurst Stakes. 'He's not very big but is very tough. We'll start him off in the Greenham Stakes.' Secrage was trained last year in Italy where she won four of her eight starts and was second to Zafonic in the Prix Morny at Deauville. 'She's a nice little filly. She'll go for the Fred Darling Stakes and after that the Italian Guineas would be the next target.'

JOHN DUNLOP: picks Visto Si Stampi, the winner of two of his three runs in 1992. 'He's progressed during the winter and should be a nice three- year-old,' the trainer said, while Talented 'showed considerable promise on her only start last season'.

DAVID ELSWORTH: 'I didn't get the best of Seattle Rhyme last year because of injury, but he's a sound horse now and has still got a future. Crystado, who's a four-year-old half- brother to In Excess, may improve to border on Group-race class.'

JOHN GOSDEN: from the 170 horses in Britain's largest stable he selects Pollen Count, who came to hand early last season and won his first two starts, and Beggarman Thief the winner of the Horris Hill Stakes.
