Racing: First show - Toshiba Talk to have last word

PUNTERS will not be impressed to learn that Coral, William Hill and Ladbrokes are not pricing up today's Showcase race until this morning writes Hyperion (Ian Davies).

The decision to issue a late- late first show is a poor show from the Big Three bookmakers, who had been lobbying the BHB for this initiative which they are now failing to support less than a week after its launch.

The Tote and leading independent bookmaker Stanley, which has over 500 betting shops nationwide, have come to the rescue however, and Toshiba Talk look fair each-way value at 10-1 with the Tote.

He has been in fine form over hurdles and was far from disgraced in finishing 10th to Blowing Wind in the County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival and looks leniently handicapped on his return to the Flat. Mr Fortywinks, who looks fairly treated on his all-weather form, might be the main danger.
