COUTURE STOCKINGS: staying handicap hurdler. Out of the handicap in a big field for his seasonal debut at Nottingham on Tuesday, made steady progress from three out without being able to trouble the leaders. Will do better when fitter. (J Mackie).

ENIGMATIC: formerly trained on the Flat by Andre Fabre, this five-year-old jumped sketchily on jumping debut at Wetherby before running on well to be fourth of 25 to Hamanaka. (K Morgan)

FURRY KNOWE: drifted in the betting at Nottingham, where he was running for the first time for three months. The eight-year-old chaser finished only sixth of 15 to High Padre, but needed the race. A return to his old form is imminent. (Mrs F Walwyn)

MR PICKPOCKET: up with the pace until saddle slipped midway through a two-mile bumper at Nottingham. Dropped right back on the turn for home but then made up an enormous amount of ground in the straight to take third place to Overlord. Has plenty of ability. (J Akehurst)
