Racing: Hopes high for Sandown
Tomorrow's cards at Haydock and Warwick were abandoned yesterday but hopes are high that Sandown will be able to stage its valuable televised card.
Channel 4 are due to show four races from the Esher course including the Grade One Tolworth Hurdle.
"Prospects are very good," the clerk of the course, Andrew Cooper, said. "We would have been raceable today."
Yesterday's jumps card at Catterick and today's fixtures at Exeter and Towcester have already been lost to the persistent rain.
