2.50: The consistent Be Mindful's three runs include a comfortable win at Catterick, but top-weight HUJJAB may be too good for him. She has yet to win a race, but her form shows a touch of class and a favourable draw and the assistance of Pat Eddery's can see her home.
3.25: Mary Reveley's stable seems to be striking form and her STAR PERFORMER can spring a surprise if forgiven his poor reappearance at Beverley earlier this month. He finished last of 11 runners that day over a trip too far for him. Back to his optimum distance he can confirm the promise he showed as a juvenile.
3.55: BALLET PRINCE looked unlucky not to have achieved the remarkable feat of carrying top weight to victory in the Ebor Handicap last time out. This classy colt was badly hampered early on, and dropped back to the rear before making up a much late ground to be a four- length seventh to Hasten to Add. Compensation awaits today.
2.35: Footlight Fantasy, a daughter of the Coronation Stakes winner Milligram, was sixth on her only outing to Solar Beam in April, but the four- month interval has proved that race one of the weakest maidens run at Newmarket all year. WHITE LADY was third on her seasonal debut to the useful Sovinista and can overcome some weak opposition.
3.05: Tuscan Dawn let down supporters when planting himself in the stalls on two recent starts, but jumped off all right last time in a Haydock handicap when he and Allthruthenight were barely separable. Neither will be able to hang about on this sharp track against the speedy INSIDER TRADER, whose York defeat of Hello Mister looks impressive after the latter's Goodwood win.
3.40: Last year's winner of this 'amateurs' Derby' Bo Knows Best gave the appearance of being readied for a repeat until running poorly at Goodwood on Friday. His partner in last year's victory rides DISCORD, down the field in the Northumberland Plate on his most recent start but previously third to Urgent Request over this course and distance. Mellaby holds Statajack and Royal Seaton on their form with Isle Of Pearls and poses a threat even from the top of the handicap.
4.10: Amin looks a worthy top weight judged on his placed efforts behind Lipizanner and Lion's Mane, as well as an impressive five-length win last time. But BELLAS GATE BOY already boasts strong form in nursery company, behind the progressive Menas Gold, and is weighted to go one better here.Reuse content
