2.30: Sweet Glow disappointed in the Northumberland Plate after his easy Royal Ascot success from Bardolph and Doyce, but the horse may well have the same preference for extreme distances on the Flat as he has over hurdles and should be better suited by the extra half-mile today. However, if Sweet Glow's predilection for Ascot applies to both codes, MY DESIRE, placed in last year's Cesarewitch and a promising second on his return, may have a more reliable chance.

3.10: Last year's winner Bigstone is as good as ever, judged on his defeat of Muhtarram, but in the absence of softened ground may be vulnerable to the younger generation. The exuberant performances of MISTER BAILEYS at distances beyond his mile best suggest he may be even better than the horse who beat Grand Lodge, Distant View and Redoubtable in the 2,000 Guineas and he can prevail today.

3.45: This race, which marked the emergence of Mister Baileys last season, comes at a time when a new wave of juveniles usually surges to the fore. The Chesham Stakes form of Montjoy has taken several knocks and ELTISH is poised to deliver another, if progressing from his defeat of Juyush.

4.15: Broadway Flyer recaptured top form here yesterday and the same stable's former Oaks triallist LA RIVERAINE returned to her best last time. She could be leniently treated.
