LINGFIELD

2.00: DANGER POINT won one division of a Bath maiden last autumn, the winner of whose other half was the leading Derby hope Broadway Flyer. Richard Hannon's colt has progressed sufficiently himself since then to chase home the subsequent winner, Mystic Hill, at York last time. Convoy Point is well- handicapped but has disappointed in soft conditions.

2.30: Last year's Oaks runner-up, ROYAL BALLERINA, who will be assisted by a pacemaker, should face a straightforward task after a successful seasonal debut in Ireland earlier this month. But Revere, who once inspired Derby pretensions, is capable of causing a surprise, judged on his Pontefract third to Alderbrook and Silver Wisp.

3.30: BID FOR BLUE, runner-up behind Owington in the Duke of York Stakes, represents solid-looking Group form, which he ought to be able to confirm with Branston Abby and the firm- ground specialist Master Planner. But the improving Roger The Butler, who won a big handicap at York, may not have to wait on his supposed betters for much longer.

NEWMARKET

3.10: With few of the runners having shown any form, there is little to work on here but rumour and supposition. Quandary has shown the best public form but LAUBALI hinted that he is capable of much better when a tenderly- handled seventh over this track last month.

3.40: RINGMASTER, who stands at around 8-1 in morning betting, missed the break in his last run at York and finished best of all in a competitive handicap. Others who have impressed in recent outings are Hever Golf Rose and Darren Boy, and they could also take a hand in an open contest.

4.15: Marina Park is sure to be well backed after an eye-catching performance at York where she was hemmed in by other runners in Owington's race. SPLICE, a course specialist, may offer better value now that she returns to her preferred trip of six furlongs.

4.45: MAGIC ORB proved tough and consistent last season an enjoyed no luck when badly hampered on her reappearance at Sandown. Although favourite in morning betting at around 5-1, she still represents some value. The lightly raced Recaptured Days could represent the greatest threat.

THE CURRAGH

3.55: With underfoot conditions in her favour, MEHTHAAF can reverse Newmarket placings with the 1,000 Guineas winner Las Meninas. As Relatively Special cannot be discounted either, the race represents a poor betting medium.
