DERBY contender State Performer, who had been trained in Dubai during the winter, will miss the big race. The colt, who had been as low as 16-1 in the ante-post betting, has met with a minor setback.

After gallops at Newmarket yesterday, a spokesman for Sheikh Mohammed said that King's Theatre would be ridden in the Derby by Michael Kinane and Linney Head by Lanfranco Dettori. 'A decision on Foyer's participation will be made in the next couple of days,' it added.

King's Theatre is now 14-1 with Hills, while Coral also go 14-1. Ladbrokes cut the colt's odds to 10-1 from 20-1.
