Racing: Revival rolls onto Riverside
MARTIN PIPE'S return to form has sparked interest in his chances of maintaining his fine Welsh National record.
After success with Fragrant Dawn on Saturday and a double at Newton Abbot on Monday, Pipe had another brace at Folkestone yesterday to take his season's score to 33, a mark passed only by Mary Reveley (52) and Kim Bailey (40).
The wins were accompanied by market interest in his Riverside Boy for the Welsh National at Chepstow on 28 December, a race Pipe has won four times in the last five seasons and in which he saddled the first four home last year.
Coral, the sponsors, have cut Riverside Boy from 8-1 in to 6-1 second favourite behind his stable-companion Rolling Ball.
