Racing: Sheikh enters 57 for Derby

Sheikh Mohammed has entered 57 yearlings for the 1999 Derby. The figure is an increase on the 45 entries he made for the 1998 race. A further 45 yearlings have been entered by Godolphin.

Yearling entries for the 1999 Derby total 544, just two down on the 1998 figure.

Numerically, the leading English owner is Michael Tabor with 25 yearlings, an increase from the 15 he entered last year.
