The International Olympic Committee called yesterday for an "exemplary sanction" against Canada's team doctor for allowing Silken Laumann, a member of the women's quadruple sculls team, to fail a dope test at the Pan-Am Games in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Laumann tested positive for pseudo-ephedrine. The IOC said it was "beyond question" that the doctor, Jeff Robinson, was to blame for the incident, and hinted at a life ban for him.
