HULL GAINED their second successive win yesterday to revive their top- five hopes and keep Salford anchored second from bottom in the Super League.

It was sweet revenge for the Sharks, who have twice been beaten by Salford in the Cup and League this season, but they were helped by the visitors' injury crisis.

Salford looked a shadow of the side and although it took Hull 14 minutes to get on the scoresheet, once the scrum-half Craig Murdock had broken the deadlock, it was one-way traffic.

Murdock's opening try followed an excellent link with Gary Lester and these two half-backs were influential throughout, with the Hull forwards having laid an excellent foundation.

Logan Campbell ripped the defence apart for Mark Johnson to score his 98th career try and right on half-time, Brad Hepi superbly created an opening for Lester to dart through.

It took just seven minutes of the second half for Hull to score their fourth try, with Fili Seru fooling the defence.

Campbell capped a superb game by shooting through a gap and then Seru grabbed his second try after Lester and Murdock had combined with Dean Busby.
