England have escaped serious punishment for briefly fielding an extra player in the World Cup win over Samoa.

The rugby Football Union have been fined £10,000 for misconduct relating to that incident, which if deemed more serious could have incurred a points deduction.

Meanwhile, fitness advisor Dave Reddin has been suspended for two matches for misconduct, a charge relating to his clash with fourth official Steve Walsh in the Samoa match.
