Harlequins returned to winning ways with a thrashing of London Welsh at The Stoop.

Quins, beaten heavily by Saracens and Exeter in recent weeks, ran in seven tries through Mike Brown, Danny Care, Marland Yarde (two), Matt Hopper and Karl Dickson. There was also a penalty try, with Nick Evans converting all seven as well as kicking a penalty to push Quins past the half-century mark.

It was not a vintage display, but Chris Robshaw led from the front, while behind the scrum England backs Brown and Care both sparkled.

Quins boss Conor O’Shea rounded on his side’s critics: “If people thought we were going to go away they’ll have to think again. To write us off only four games was insulting.”
