Ireland have made nine changes in personnel for Sunday's World Cup clash with Russia at Rotorua International Stadium.
Second row Leo Cullen leads a largely second string side strengthened by senior players needing more game time.
Paddy Wallace is finally rewarded for his patience with his first World Cup start in his third appearance at the tournament.
The Ulster centre was unused in 2003 and only played three minutes - against Namibia - in 2007.
There is a new half-back combination in Ronan O'Gara and Isaac Boss with Jonathan Sexton and Eoin Reddan providing cover on the bench.
Fergus McFadden makes his World Cup debut on the right wing with Tommy Bowe yet to recover from a calf injury, while Andrew Trimble fills the number 14 jersey.
Rob Kearney continues at full-back to secure more game time as he works his way back from injury.
Prop Cian Healy, lock Donncha O'Callaghan and number eight Jamie Heaslip also start as they seek to accumulate more time on the pitch.
Hooker Sean Cronin and prop Tony Buckley are the newcomers in the front row while Donnacha Ryan makes his full World Cup debut at blindside flanker.
"There was a need to freshen it up because we had a big Test match against Australia last Saturday," said coach Declan Kidney.
"The lads coming in will bring freshness and enthusiasm. The good thing about touring and tournaments is that the guys in the squad already know the calls.
"This is the players' World Cup and they'll only buy into that if they get a chance to show themselves."
Kidney has given Sean O'Brien another run at openside, rather than pick Shane Jennings, in order to help him familiarise himself with the position.
The European player of the year moved across the back row for last Saturday's 15-6 victory over Australia at Eden Park.
"Sean just needs more time at seven," said Kidney.
"Shane can do a good job for us at seven but Sean needs to play because the more time you have there the better you get in the position.
"If he plays like he did against Australia I'll be happy."
