Round-Up: O'Connell's try takes Munster into last four

Munster completed a memorable day for the Irish by setting up a Heineken Cup semi-final meeting with Leinster at Lansdowne Road later this month with a 19-10 victory over Perpignan.

The Lions lock Paul O'Connell scored an early try for Munster, who were making a rare "home" appearance at Lansdowne Road. O'Connell's effort was converted by his Irish international team-mate Ronan O'Gara, who also landed four penalties. All Perpignan's points came from their wing Mathieu Bourret - a try, conversion and penalty.

A day which began with the Wales centre Hal Luscombe confirming his imminent arrival from Newport-Gwent Dragons ended with Harlequins celebrating their return to the Premiership after clinching the National League One title at the first attempt with a 65-8 demolition of Sedgley Park at the Twickenham Stoop.

The South Africa-born Luscombe, 25, capped 15 times by his adoptive country, leaves Rodney Parade after seven years. Luscombe and fellow centre Stuart Abbott, who signed for Quins from Wasps last week having just won his eighth cap for England against Ireland, are old friends from their schooldays in South Africa.

London Irish are expected to progress to the last four of the European Challenge Cup when they entertain Bayonne at the Madejski Stadium this afternoon. But the Exiles go into the quarter-final without 10 senior players - Nils Mordt, who is in Hong Kong with the England sevens squad, and the injured Danie Coetzee, Michael Collins, Barry Everitt, Paul Gustard, Michael Horak, Ross Laidlaw, Nick Kennedy, Juan Leguizamon, and Faan Rautenbach.

Canterbury extended their 100 per cent record in the Super 14 with a 20-11 win away to Wellington. Corey Flynn and Andrew Ellis ran in the Crusaders' tries and Daniel Cart-er kicked the rest of their points.
