Scotland recall Hilton after two-year absence
David Hilton is on the verge of completing his international rehabilitation with Scotland after being named in the squad for Saturday's second autumn Test, against South Africa.
The Glasgow Warriors' prop has not featured for the senior side since being found to be ineligible in March 2000. The 32-year-old, who won 41 caps on the basis of having an Edinburgh-born grandfather, discovered his grandparent had in fact been born in Bristol. But, after completing his term of residency, he was available for selection again in the summer.
He is included after injury to Northampton Saints' forward Mattie Stewart. The Warriors' back-row forward Jason White also returns after injury.
Wales look certain to be without the centre Tom Shanklin for the rest of their autumn Tests, against Canada and New Zealand. The 22-year-old Saracens player limped off with an ankle injury after nine minutes of Wales' 58-14 win over Fiji in Cardiff on Saturday.
Leinster's Gordon D'Arcy, 22, has been called up by Ireland to face Fiji in Dublin on Sunday. The wing, who won his only Irish cap in the 1999 World Cup, replaces Munster's back John Kelly, who was due to have a scan yesterday to assess a leg injury sustained in Saturday's 18-9 win over Australia.
