Clive Woodward warned yesterday that England's best players could be lost to other sports. While his team negotiated with the Rugby Football Union about image rights, the England coach stressed the need to pay Jonny Wilkinson and others in line with their status as "superstar players".
"We could lose Jonny to American football and that can't be allowed to happen so we must pay him what he's worth," Woodward told Radio 5 Live. Although he doubted Wilkinson would switch to gridiron "because it's a dull game", he warned: "We must not take him for granted. We have to give him what he's worth."Reuse content
