Dennis Conner took a swipe at the management of the Whitbread Race in Fort Lauderdale yesterday, accusing them of failing properly to enforce their own rules, manipulating international juries and being insensitive to competitors and sponsors, writes Stuart Alexander. It was a good race but needed considerable improvement. 'I know they are scheduling meetings here and in Southampton, but I am not expecting much to come out of them,' he said. In calling for the removal of the Race Director, Ian Bailey-Willmot, he said, 'He is such a dictator and doesn't care what anyone thinks.'
