Second Division Shrewsbury produced a remarkable revival against Third Division Fulham at Gay Meadow in their FA Cup third-round replay last night.

Shrewsbury had Paul Evans sent off for a professional foul after 15 minutes when he crashed into the Fulham captain, Simon Morgan. Then they fell behind in the 29th minute when Rory Hamill took advantage of a mistake by Paul Edwards, the Shrewsbury goalkeeper.

Fulham could not hold on to their advantage after the interval. Shrewsbury drew level with a header from Steve Anthrobus in the 49th minute. A magnificent goal-line clearance by Mark Taylor then prevented Fulham regaining the lead. Mark Dempsey earned Shrewsbury a home tie against Liverpool with a goal in the 87th minute.

There was an upset at the Manor Ground as Stuart Massey scored the only goal of the game for Second Division Oxford United against First Division Millwall. Oxford will travel to Stoke or Nottingham Forest in the fourth round.

In the Endsleigh League Second Division, nearly 20,000 people saw Peter Beadle score twice in three minutes at Ashton Gate as Bristol Rovers beat Bristol City 2-0.
