LIZ McCOLGAN, who finished fifth in the Olympic 10,000 metres final, will run in the inaugural world half-marathon championships on Tyneside on 20 September. She is one of four Olympic athletes in the British women's team, together with Jill Hunter, Sally Eastall and Andrea Wallace. Steve Brace and Paul Evans will lead the men's team, but Britain will not be represented in the junior race.
