ANDY MYERS, of Chelsea, scored twice as England beat Poland 6-1 in Regensburg, Germany, yesterday to reach the semi-finals of the European Youth Championship and secure qualification for the World Youth Championship in Australia next March. England's opponents in tomorrow's semi-final in Schweinfurt will be Portugal, while Turkey take on Norway in the other semi-final. The final is on Saturday. The other goals came from Sheffield Wednesday's Chris Bart-Williams, Alan Thompson and Stephen Watson of Newcastle, and Tottenham's Nick Barmby.

CELTIC are giving a trial to Rudi Vata, a 23-year-old Albanian international defender who plays for Dinamo Tirana. Vata is available at about pounds 200,000.

TORBEN FRANK, 24, a striker with Denmark's European Championship- winning squad, is leaving the Danish champions, Lyngby, for the French First Division club, Lyon.
