MILAN PANIC, Yugoslavia's prime minister, had his plea for a ban on his country's participation in the World Cup to be lifted rejected by Fifa yesterday. Fifa's general secretary, Sepp Blatter, said: 'We have to abide by the United Nations sanctions on Yugoslavia and have reluctantly to turn down this request.'
